The Adams Idea Super Hybrid has 2nd generation distance slot technology, and has a reasonable-sized clubhead. The tendency has been to make the fairway metals larger and larger, which makes them harder to hit from less than perfect lies. This club, while large for a hybrid, is still compact enough to work in poorer lies. Launches the ball with medium trajectory. Distance is NOT greater than many other hybrids. The extra backspin of the 17-deg hybrid seems to hold the shot on line better than the increased sidespin of the 15-deg. The shafts and grips are good. The headcovers are excellent. One thing that takes some getting used to is the slot in the sole will hang up on uneven turf when you start your backswing. It doesn't take but a half dozen swings to get used to it. I bought the hybrid because Adams promised more distance, and I thought I could use it as both a hybrid and a fairway metal. It doesn't go as far as the longer-shafted fariway metal, and the bottom slot problem has already been described. I would rate this product as good, but I am sure there are better hybrids out there. I have a cheap Walter Hagen hybrid that compares to this expensive Adams. I do not know which will finally end up in my bag.Read full review
Very easy club to hit off all sorts of lies, the ball comes off with a good strong flight. Easy to work left to right, right to left, high or low. I am 60 years old play of 4 handicap and hit it 200 meters no effort. If I was to be picky I would have liked a better finish on the head, but still happy with appearance.
purchased two Adams super hybrids on ebay. These are extremely good golf clubs. The 17* was $70.00 less than any other I looked for it. The 22* $90.00 less.
