After having golfed sparsely for most of my life, I began golfing a lot with my girlfriend the past 2 years, and got to a point where I felt my antiquated equipment was keeping me from scoring better. I began looking for equipment that would fit what I knew would were my weaknesses and did my research, and came upon these clubs at a local golf store and loved the way they felt when hitting them in the store. I looked around for a while and found a great deal on the graphite shaft set on ebay. I got them and was so excited that I took them out of the box and immediately went out and played a round and shot my lowest nine hole score ever. The Hybrids filled in a hole I had in my game as I could never hit my long irons and was immediately able to hit these long, straight and high. I struggled a little with the 6 thru PW until I practiced with them a few times, and while still learning them, have added quite a bit of distance and loft, but the big improvement has been accuracy. I rarely hit an errant shot anymore with these clubs. They are light, have a great feel upon impact, hit straight, high and I have gained a fair amount of distance over my previous set and feel, as I get used to them, that will only get better. I would highly reccomend these clubs to anyone, but especially to an intermediate player looking to make that next step, and maybe slightly older players that need a little something extra to maintain or improve their gameRead full review
I have played every major brand of clubs ever produced. Weak part of my game is 5-6-7 irons. First of all I can not play irons with lot of offset. I bought the 6 & 7 irons, used, on eBay to try. Both are the hybrid type, but when grounded in position they look like a normal iron without any bulge sticking out. Offset looks minimum. The heads are oversize which instills confidence in my head that I am not going to mis-hit the ball. The weight of club is just right with graphite shafts. Best of all, I can get great height on the ball flight and it goes straight. They do not dig and produce a fat shot. Just make a smooth swing without trying to over power it, and FOLLOW THROUGH. Do not quit on your shot, and you will be just as pleased with these clubs as I am. I am ordering a full set based on my experience with the #7 #8 irons. 4H,5H, 6&7 mid hybrids, 8-GW. Although I would NOt recommend to my friends. I do not wish to give them any advantage over me!!Read full review
I bought a used set of Adams A70S from a friend of mine. I played Ping Eye 2 irons for years. I quit playing golf for almost 10 years because my family was young, and I spent time with them. When I came back to the game I could not hit any mid to long irons without losing distance and direction. The set I bought had the 3, 4, 5, 6 hybrids and 7 through sand wedge with regular shafts. These clubs have literally changed my golf game for the better. I don't have to swing as hard to get the ball the correct distance and my ball flight is better. I have since bought an Adams Speedline Fast 12 Driver after testing it against a Ping driver and a Cobra Amp driver. I hit the Adams 20 yards farther than the other two when I tested them on the range. I am 50 years old and most of the guys I play golf with are 3 to 10 years younger than me, and I consistently outdrive them now. I never tried an Adams product until July 2012, and now I am hooked. I really don't see me buying any other clubs other than Adams. I got very lucky to get a deal from my friend and a great set of clubs. I have retooled my game for around $500 for a GREAT set of golf clubs including the driver. Shot an 83 from the blue tees this week, and I am normally about a 16 handicapper. My buddies that try my irons and hybrids love the way they feel. Good luck!Read full review
I have been using these new sticks for almost a month, for maybe 15 rounds so far. I am extremely happy with them, and I wouldn't trade them for any other clubs. I originally bought them because I was noticing at the executive course where I play that I was hitting more 190 yard greens as I was 150 to 175 yard greens. I knew it was because I was hitting well with my Adams 3 hybrid, so I reasoned that if I were to get a set with a 4 and 5 hybrid that I might be more accurate with them than I had been with my 4 and 5 irons. For once I was right. I am much more accurate with the 4H and 5H. But it doesn't stop there. The graphite shafts and lighter weight have made me more accurate with all of my clubs. I think it is because I don't change grip pressure at the top of my swing like I did with my heavier old clubs. It might also be because I am better balanced and not trying to swing hard. I had learned with my 3 hybrid that swinging hard never helped, now I swing all my clubs less hard except for my driver. While I love the clubs you may want to know that I am not hitting the ball any longer than I did with my old set. I hit the pitching wedge about 100 yards and the 3 hybrid about 190 (probably 180 in the air). I sometimes hit the ball 200 with the 3, and have been pin high on a 214 yard hole once, I think I had a tail wind on that shot. These distances are no longer than I hit my old irons. And the other slight negative is that the ball doesn't hold greens as well when I hit into them with the new clubs, especially with he 3H to 5H. I have to figure more on what will happen after the ball lands than I used to. That said I am much, much more accurate with these clubs, as I mentioned before. Just today I scored a 66 on my par 59 executive course, making 9 pars and 2 birdies. This is 4 shots better than I have ever scored, and 10 shots better than my average round with the old clubs (and to be honest I used to take mulligans with the old clubs). I swear I am at least 5 shots better with the new Adams, and probably closer to 8-10 shots better. I do want to find a graphite shafted lofted club that will let me spin the ball. I love the PW in the new set from 60 to 100 yards, the light weight allows me to control the distance I ht the ball like never before, but the PW and the GW do not allow me to stop the ball on the green quickly. Unfortunately now that I am used to the lighter weight clubs I have a hard time swinging my old 56 degree Nike steel shafted wedge and I do struggle with chipping to tight pins. Since I think there are some different Adams a7OS sets out there I will specify that I bout the set with 4H and 5H, and 6 and 7 mid hybrid, and 8-GW irons. I should say that I love all of the clubs, with the possible exception of the GW, which does not impart much back spin for a fairly high lofted club.Read full review
When I was searching for a new set of irons to buy as a casual golfer, I determined I needed to get a set of game improvement clubs and hopefully find them at a cost that wouldn't break the bank. I found these Adams Idea a7Os iron set and I haven't regretted buying them for a second! A 2010 Golf Digest Gold Medal pick, these clubs have helped my game tremendously. I could really feel and see the difference hitting these clubs: more of my not so solid mis-hits still resulted in straighter ball flight trajectory thanks to the way these clubs are weighted. If you're looking for game improvement irons look no further!
