I was hesitant to purchase this because it is a brand I had not used before. I was a Dell person but had issues with their batteries and power supplies. The price was great on this device and have had it for almost two years now. It is not a power machine but more than adequate for home/office use. Boots up and down quite quickly. It is lightweight and has the best battery life of any laptop I have ever owned. I can get a full 6 hours use before needing a charge. The battery is not removable though but so far still holds charge. The only peeve I have is that it comes with a lot of bloatware and the touchpad should have been a bit more to the right.

This is a very nice low end computer. However, Acer missed the ball when they put a solid panel on the back of the laptop. There is no way to up date the memory, hard drive or battery with out removing the entire back panel. Where the back panel attaches to where the screen is located I could not get the back panel to release so I could not do any upgrading. Could not find a memory module even tho the spec says there is one and its upgradable from the 4gb that comes with the lap top to a max of 8gb. Without being able to remove the back panel nothing can be upgraded. Most lap tops have doors or removable panels over the hard drive, memory modules and battery. Very poor design. I gave it a 3 star based on the above problems.

I love mine, especially brand new for 199.99 with the DVD/Blue Ray/CD burner/viewer. I immediately went to you tube and went to a guys site I trust ad uninstalled 100% of the pre-installed Acer Bloatware. Then I ordered an 8GB RAM upgrade instead of 4. This is a 64 bit system, so it can utilize it with Windows 10. It comes with Office 365 trial, which I promptly deleted and in installed Office 2010 Pro. The screen is great, the price is great, and as soon as my 8GB RAM gets here I am going to see if it can run a slightly older (3 years version of Halo to see if I can get seamless operation and at what level of graphics. However, I use my desktop for gaming, with 2 GB of video memory on a dedicated HD Nvidia card, and 16 gb of RAM. Look, it isn't a $365.00 Toshiba, but for $199.00 with a 500 GB HDD and 4GB RAM plus 3 USB slots (one USB3.0) AND an HDMI out...I am thrilled. ****Note. There is only 1 memory slot. So, you buy only 1 at a time. Maximum on this unit is 16GB. Read full review

Nice laptop for daughter. She enjoys it. Cant comment on battery life because I don't use it but she has not complained. Other than that, i would recommend. Thanks!
