Stylish and lightweight at a low cost. Stock model is severely limited by only 2gb ram and somewhat limited by old-timey platter drive. I was able to upgrade to SSD(very easy) and 8gb single-stick ram(very difficult). The HDD upgrade is as simple as removing the dozen screws that hold the bottom cover on then removing the HDD and popping in an SSD. This reduced boot times from ~ 100 seconds to under 25, made it run significantly cooler, and will greatly improve battery life. The ram module replacement requires 4 cable disconnects. The battery and speaker headers are pretty easy to undo/redo, the keyboard isn't too terribly bad, but the trackpad is impossible to see nevermind feel. then one can simply tilt the mobo up to get at the inboard ram slot. The ram slot is supposed to tilt out, but I wasn't able to figure out how too. I got the ram stick seated, and got it all back together, but couldn't get the header for the trackpad properly reconnected. Most people will just get a usb mini-mouse anyway. I have done lots of upgrade work/builds of desktops, but laptops are another matter altogether in terms of tight quarters and fragility. In stock config; this would be just fine for an older/younger person's email/web browsing/social media. Use models in good condition can be had cheaply enough for people like me who wanted to delve into the world of laptop upgrading without getting sick over bricking $300-$400 worth of hardware. I think I have a pretty good laptop now after ~ $70(35 8gb ram/35 128gb SSD) and ~ 60 minutes in investment.Read full review

Good choice for those who like to customize their laptop/netbook. Works wonderfully once upgraded to an SSD hard drive;and when downgraded to Windows 7 from Windows 8 (no track pad problems once I installed Windows 7). I wanted a small computer for around the house and this was an excellent choice. Unlike the HP Stream and similar laptops/netbooks, the hard drive on this model can be upgraded(video instructions on how to upgrade are easily found on the web). If you don't like to disassemble your laptop/netbook then avoid this model and buy a HP Stream (my nephews love them).
