This is an incredibly content-dense textbook. I find it very interesting reading, and like the way it is laid out to include historical information, core concepts, thorough definitions and descriptions, case studies, and treatment plans. The summaries at the end of each chapter are helpful, especially when I have not had time to complete all of the assigned reading before class. I especially like the way my professor integrates case studies from the book with presentations and videos that he shows in class; for example, when we were learning about bipolar disorder, one of the psychologists quoted in the book was also the author of a supplementary reading we did, and in class we watched a video interview with her. The book provided the background for all of these.
I use this book in college and it is very easy to read and study from. I would recommend this book to anyone taking abnormal psychology or is just interested in this topic. Also, this book contains kool case studies, very interesting.
