I have always been happy with AT&T products but I was surprised to find out that the display that shows who is calling does not light up. I knew it required 4 AA batteries so you can store numbers but also assumed it had a small light in the display like the old AT&T trimline keypad that I used to have. Phone was easy to mount on wall and works well but it is very hard to read the display due to no inside light. I probably would not have purchased this phone because the main reason was being able to see who is calling.

It's not quite a piece of junk, but it's a contender. It seems like it's one fall away on a plush carpet to break apart. Maybe a slight exaggeration, but you do get what you pay for, so I hear. For those with below average eyesight, the LED screen is practically useless. It does not emit a satisfying luminous green glow as several photos have shown. The screen is small and so are the options displayed on screen. If you could read the LED screen, it's quite easy learning how to navigate through the different options. The manual is easy to read and straightforward. So, that's something. You might want to think about supplementing this phone with a longer curly cord and telephone cord. If you have the phone stretched near its limit from the phone jack, you will see the phone take to flight if quickly grabbed. Again, this phone is poorly constructed with cheap materials. But if you want a basic corded phone with not many frills, it wouldn't be the worst investment you made. And if you use this phone specifically to have a more accurate line to 911 and other emergency services, this phone is ideal.Read full review

I just added a phone jack in our exercise room. When deciding what type of phone would work best I listed several features. These wants included, caller ID, wall or surface mount and since all of my other phones with caller ID were cordless I wanted this phone to be corded. This phone met all of my selected features. The price was right and when the phone arrived it was hooked up and worked perfectly. Plus the sound quality was much better than one brand of cordless phones that I have in service. If you need a corded phone this version from AT & T will meet your needs.
Purchased this phone for my elderly mother, and it is perfect for her. It is easy to use, similar to the touch-tone phones that she has used over the years. It also has some more modern features like caller id.

Sound quality is good, footprint is small, ringer can be turned off, low and high, volume can be low, medium or high, pressure you use on buttons to make a call is good and keys are on inside of the handset not on the phone itself which is handy so on the whole I'm happy with this phone - especially since the price was low. However 2 problems. First the cord that goes from the wall to the phone is around 5 ft. long which is sometimes not long enough and it isn't removable so can't be replaced. The cord that goes from the phone to the handset is replaceable but not the other cord. This limits where you can use this phone. My phone jack in my office is more than 5 feet away from my desk so this is useless in my office. Second, option buttons are on the outside of the handset which means if I answer the phone and my hand touches those buttons, I cut the call off before I can even answer it. Fortunately, the caller Id tells me who I've cut off but that's not good enough as I've cut off important calls and since I'm not a rude person it bothers me when this happens even when it's a family member or friend calling. So, Chinese made phone with 2 poor design features. I think with more time I'll learn how to deal with the handset problem but nothing can change the decision on the part of the manufacturer to limit the connection cord.Read full review
