Used in a bare bones setup with external crystal and using a FTDI232 as a programmer an compiled the code just fine. These particular chips actually had a bootloader that the fuses were actually set to run a 16 Mhz. Would recommend these chips for a no hassle project or replacement part.

An arduino for 4 bucks, definitely! This is the same chip that powers Arduinos. Just make sure you have a 16Mhz oscillator to use with it so it actually runs at a decent speed.

Costs more than you’d pat for a unit when buying a little larger quanity. I only needed a couple so this was best for my needs. If you only need a few atmegas and parts, and thus you’re looking more for convenience than price, that’s the right kit for you.

Did not expect a superior quality chip but for sure, very easy to do hv programming on with no errors, excellent backup chips or custom ones.

The chips are easy to use in custom micro controller projects or in a Breadboard Arduino. Simple and easy to use. The supplier was prompt in shipping and had a good value.
