The wifi is easy to setup and joins the wireless network without any problem. I don't have a data plan so I could not comment about this feature. An ipad is just an ipad. Battery life is excellent. You can only use Safari to surf the net. Apple will not allow you to use anything else. Remember that there is no USB support. It's compact, beautifully designed with better screen resolution than most of the competitors.
I own before ipad I and the main differences is the weight and cover the user experience for all the rest is practically the same. I also bought a motorola xoom and compare it with Ipad II and I return back the Motorola , Apple beats in terms of aplications , look like, weight , battery user time. My only big complain is the fact of the browser that does not suuport flash, is a critical point.
I bought this item as a birthday gift for my wife who's in California. Actually, she wanted to buy an android tablet because she needed a tablet which has office apps in it. I decided that i'll just get her an ipad since ipads also have office apps that can be downloaded from the apple store, plus she she's got an iphone 5 which she can share all her apps with the ipad. She was so happy when she received the package. Now, she's always on her ipad everytime she gets home from work and was really fascinated with the 10 inch screen everytime we do facetime cause i also have an iphone.
