The power, control and beauty of Andrea Bocelli's voice is showcased in this excellent CD. All the songs range from good to magnificent, save three, tracks 7, 11, and 12. The aforementioned tracks either have to little singing or the singing is to plain. Those three, however, are easily outshined by the other 12 tracks. Track 4, Il Mare Calmo Dela Sera (The calm evening sea) is an interesting song where Bocelli essentially performs a duet with himself, singing first in a more common style then with his magnificent operatic power. Bocelli has 4 duets on this CD featuring Gerardina Trovato, Giorgia, John Miles and the legendary duet with Sara Brightman "Time to say Goodbye". All in all, well worth owning for any fan of Bocelli or simply of marvelous music. Just my humble opinion. 1. Con te Partiro 2. Vivere (Featuring Gerardina Trovato) 3. Per Amore 4. Il Mare Calmo Della Sera 5. Caruso 6. Macchine Da Guerra 7. Le Tue Parole 8. Vivo Per Lei (Featuring Giorgia) 9. Romanza 10. La Luna Che Non C'e 11. Rapsodia 12. Voglio Restare Cosi 13. E Chiove 14. Miserere (Featuring John Miles) 15. Time to say Goodbye (Featuring Sara Brightman) Total Run time 66:03Read full review
I slowly became aware of the song 'Con te partiro' through years of hearing it on TV shows, promos for concerts, radio, and yes, elevators! Always loved it, had to have it. I finally received Andrea Bocelli's Romanza CD last week and played the cd non-stop for hours. Even my husband, who almost proudly announces to friends that he hates music, was humming along. Even tho it is in Italian, sung by "opera" singers and most songs are not familiar melodies...go for it. It is just beautiful music, case closed!
Tuscan-born tenor Andrea Bocelli's fourth album, "Romanza," a collection of his most popular recordings, is more than a "greatest hits" album. Known for his romantic attitude as much as his rich tenor, Bocelli's particular brand of pop-opera does much to bridge the gap between hardcore opera enthusiasts and those who prefer popular music. Even if you don't understand the words, Bocelli's soaring tenor is yet another fine instrument in the lush instumentals. "Con Te Partiro" (I'll Go With You) remains my favorite, but his duet with Sarah Brightman, "Time to Say Goodbye," is none too shabby either.
I bought this CD because I own and thoroughly enjoy Bocelli's AMORE. That album is great and this is very good. I do not mean to slight the other artists on this album for they are very good at what they do. My tastes appreciate the classical sound of his voice and many of the tracks on this CD are simply treats. Respectfully submitted ROD
I love the CD. Not sure how it ever got a negative review
