This kit is a great way to celebrate the original series for people who enjoy a good modeling experience! The construction is very basic and straightforward, with the pieces molded in white plastic, very close to the light gray color of the actual "full-size shuttlecraft" constructed for the television show and now on display at the NASA Space Flight Center in Houston, Texas. For the experienced modeler, it presents a fantastic challenge to "fix" all of the details which can easily lend themselves to a full-blown modeling challenge and satisfying experience. An after-market kit of more detailed plastic components can be found to make things even more precise, not to mention an after-market decal sheet, and at least two different after-market lighting kits (one for the nacelles/engine pods tips and one for the interior). Highly recommended!Read full review

This vintage kit is a must build for any Star Trek modeling fan. The only version better that is currently available is over $300. So this kit and a bit of scratch building skill can go a long way.

This was a great model to build when I was a kid and a nice complement to the Enterprise. I am looking forward to building it as an adult.
