Not as the cover indicates. For a Picture History of American Farm Tractor Dealerships it lack one very important thing: Pictures of Farm Dealerships. I was expecting some great pictures of large dealerships, mom and pop operations, rows of tractors and machinery, etc. I guess I was expecting that it would actually have those type of pictures predominately. Don't get me wrong, it has some nice pictures but pictures of Vintage Tractor Ads, Spark Plug Ads, Truck Ads, restored tractors in modern settings, and modern dealer establishments, but pictures of parts shelving and pallets of miscellaneous parts is not what the title says the book is about. Overall, it could have been a great book, but do to the authors missing the mark on the content based on the title I would not recommend it for anyone looking for Vintage Tractor dealer pictures. Because there are not very many. In the end, the text is equal in amount to the pictures. And the story seems like it rambles with histories of dealers instead of pictures. Also has large sections of text dedicated to replenishing supplies, etc. That is a simple one sentence paragraph as it is for dealers today - "Dealers order supplies and parts from distributors or manufacturers the ensure stock on hand". Instead of 20 odd pages of text there could have been more pictures.Read full review

Nice book full of info I was looking for, title is misleading or just a partial lie as its mostly equipment history nothing at all about the dealerships that sell them as implied, disappointed in that aspect otherwise great info on vintage equipment.

Good book for winter reading. Worth the price if you only look at the fantastic old pictures. Well researched information. You can spend hours looking at all the details in ole time photos.

It takes me from the earlier times to now. It's full of facts and shows how things have changed and stayed the same in ways, not counting the growth in size, but it seems like everything is bigger now for survival in an ever growing and changing world. I found it to be an interesting read with good photography. I would purchase again.
This book was not what I expected! It covers several dealerships and goes into a lot of detail about the past history of the few. It does not cover much of what I thought would have been a good theme; lots of old photos of dealership buildings, tractors being repaired in the shop, or rows of old tractors and farm equipment for sale at the dealer. Overall, it was interesting reading, but not well presented.
