This is an good choice for a dual-core processor for socket AM2 systems. It is a 65W processor, so runs cooler than many of the other AM2 processors while still providing good performance. It has the same CPU ID as some of the Athlon 64 X2 processors, so should be supported by most motherboards capable of supporting those processors.
