This is presumably based on a real story of a young man who tries on another person's name and social position, and has interesting elements and potentially interesting sub-plots/stories. Unfortunately, it is not the best put-together package. Some of the acting is somewhat 'hamish' and contrived and elements of the storyline are too quickly passed over without allowing enough character development, clear insight or understanding. I imagine this is because there is too much too be put into the shortened version of a story that must have gone on for some time in real life. I think the movie-maker had very good intentions and found some reasonably good actors, who, at times, played a few good scenes. I can't say exactly where it falls down as a whole. It is certainly entertaining enough as a movie to watch on tv if your expectations are not set too high. The director also tries a bit of a triptych screen scene of a party in France, which is somewhat successful, but I am glad it was just one scene. Overall, watch it if the plot line seems interesting but don't expect it to be the best movie you've ever seen.Read full review
