I have only one major complaint about these: the plastic cabinet makes them vulnerable to shipping damage. The first pair I bought were destroyed in shipping. Aside from that, they're great little speakers. I use them as near-field monitors for audio production, driven by a Hafler TA-1100, along with a JBL MediaSub. No, they don't sound like larger Advents, but that would be physically impossible. They don't have much bass, but neither do any other small speakers. If you are looking for a compact, inexpensive, yet good quality passive near-field monitor, the Mini Advent is a good choice. You'll probably want a subwoofer, though.
I love the sound of these little speakers. They have punch for their size, but without distortion. They make you do a double take when you hear them. They aren't ported (which I like.) I've used them for the mono rear channel of my system, back in the 90's. Two on each side. Each pair wired in series, but out of sync. That gives a soft "wall of sound" with no "point source" from the rear of my music room. There isn't room for me to explain the wiring an reasoning here. I now own 3 sets stored for some later need. Suffice it to say the tweeter and woofer is well matched.
