Love these irons...im a 13 handicapp and can shoot an 80 occasionally. Early this year i set out to find the perfect set went through 4 diff. sets since the end of last season(r7's, Miz jpx 800,J36pc) and its stopped here! I do not have the hybrids just because im not a hybrid guy...just never got into them but heard they're great too. From 185 out with a 5I hitting the green to some of the best pitch/chip shots with the PW ever (thats my bread and butter) didnt think i could get any better but this PW is sweet. I just cant say enough and how good it feels to hit greens in reg. 50-70% of the time and how great the ball flight is with these steel shafts. Overall i would HIGHLY recommend these clubs to anyone under a 16 handicapp and wants to have a set to grow into w/ability or even start working the ball as you get better!!! Oh and looks Sweet! Thin topline, blade looking, and sounds crisp!Read full review
I got this set because of the hybrids but have found I like the irons just as well. I have a new confidence when I take an iron out of the bag. They were easy to hit the first time out and the only adjustment was finding my distances with each club. The set came with the cart bag and a putter. I really like the bag it is larger than my old one but is lighter. Materials are good quality, is not cheap or thin feeling. I thought I would keep using my old putter, but so far have kept the new putter in the bag. Plus the Winn grips are really nice. I always like golfing but I am seeing some game improvement with the new clubs. Clubs have a good sound and solid feel. (Women's A7OS set)
First the bad news Adams Golf Clubs don't hold their value. Now the good news they are a super great buy on Ebay. After using the A4 Forged Irons for the last 5 years I thought it was time for an upgrade the A7 Iron set are an excellent set made up of 3, 4 hybrid and 5-PW regular cavity back irons. The Hybrids are good for 200-210 and 195-200 and the irons are about 5 yards longer than my A4s. Also I might add the hybrids are the easy to hit long and straight. The irons are like throwing darts. I opted for a set of regular shafts on this set as my swing speed had dropped a bit. I couldn't give these a 5 star because the clubs are suppose to be forged which is good they feel soft but they are not chromed like my still shinny A4s, in fact the A7s dull a little bit after a lot of play. But I think all modern clubs do that. I like the shine of chrome which is just personal perferance. Overall the clubs are great, easy to find the sweet spot, and they are workable, athough every time I try to work the ball I seem to end up in a sand trap. Straight is fine with me, these clubs are easy to hit straight. Ball flight is medium high, ball comes down soft 8,9 PW can be deadly accurate. Average grips and above average looks. Buy them new or next to new if you can I did and couldn't be happier.Read full review
I am a mid handicapper and have played the Adams GT500 for the past 3 years and enjoyed them. To try in lower my handicap I purchased the Adams a7 to improve my play from the 170 to 200 yard range. I played my first round today after two range visits and found the iron (5 through PW) were easy to get into the air and carried farther than GT500's did. I will need to get accustom to distant control. The hybrid (3 & 4) will also take a bit of time to control, but are easy to hit. They appear to be very good alternative to long irons since they are easier to hit than the 3 or 4 iron. I have a Taylormade R7 Driver and a Burner 3 wood. I tried a set of Burner irons and find the Adams hybrid / iron set a better choice for my game. The one issue that I had is the standard grips that come with the Adams a7 set. I resolved this issue by replacing the grips with Golf Pride Mid Tour Wraps. I know I will have this iron set for a few years and based on the limited use enjoy the performance.Read full review
purchased after reviewing clubs online. Checked golf magazine hot list for 2010 (figuring the last couple of years technology would be more affordable). These clubs got such good reviews and the price was right, not much risk in taking a chance on them. Product is as advertised, very pleasing at address, thinner top line with a slight offset. These are the lightest irons I have owned. The feel off the clubface is good, not great. I like the transitional 5 iron and find it easy to hit. The hybrid 3 and 4 are attractive and I have noticed increased distance over my older hybrid. The only con so far is that the irons seem to wear rapidly (scratches and scrapes show on clubface. Overall, this club set is a good value and will work for me for a couple of years until I can afford a forged set. I am a high single digit handicap.Read full review
