This mat is EXACTLY what I needed, since I was given a game without one. My 6 1/2 year old grandson was able to figure out how to play game without much input from me. Great game to burn off excess energy on rainy days!

The game was in good shape, but the case it came in was very beat up and broken. I'll probably have to get something else to put the disk in so i won't cut myself. But, i had no problem with the actually game. Plus it was only $5.

If you like Wii Fit, this is similar but you do a lot of jumping in this one. If you are put effort into it, you'll burn calories & have fun. The mat (32.5”x36.5” wide) has a 10' long cord that plugs into the first gamecube controller port. Would have been nice if it were wireless. You can play as your own Mii & keep track of your progress via graphs, etc. wh There are a lot of different games and levels, so I will list the games & what is involved. This info is taken from the instruction booklet that comes with it-with bits of my own info thrown in. ** indicates a game can be played either in single or multi-player mode. **TIMBER TRAIL: Run as fast as you can while jumping over and dodging logs. MOLE STOMPER: Try to quickly hit all of the moles as they appear. KAYAK ATTACK: Go kayaking down a raging river (escape whirlpools & hit jumps) Use remote as a paddle while standing on the mat. PIPE SLIDER: Slide down a slick pipe while dodging obstacles. Sit on the mat for this one & use your hands to steer/speed up. **MINE CART ADVENTURE: Take a wild mine cart ride. Stand on the mat & shift your weight by lifting up which ever foot is necessary to steer the cart around corners. Use the remote to gain speed. MOUNTAIN BOARDER: Slide through a grassy field on your board while landing tricks. Depending on the placement of your feet/jumping, you will do tricks & obtain points. SPEED ROLLER: Speed through the course as fast as you can on in-line skates. Alternate your footing to “skate” & use the remote to “steer” where you are going. LAKE-TOP TRAMPOLINE: Perform amazing tricks in mid-air. You are basically jumping on the mat for this one. Screen shows which area of the mat to press to perform the trick and gain points. **STONE STEPPER: Sprint across stone pillars in a race to the finish line. **SPRINT CHALLENGE: Run as fast as you can through the course to earn the best time. **HEAD ON HURDLER: Race to the goal while clearing hurdles to get the best time. **LOG LEAPER: Jump logs as they come at you from all sides to avoid getting knocked over the edge. **CONVEYER RUNNER: See how far you can run without falling off the course. There will be obstacles to jump over too. **SEESAW BATTLER: Put your button pressing skills to the test with this new variation of hot hands. You need to press the area of the mat that is shown on the screen. **JUMP ROPE: Play jump rope for as long as you can without tripping. (MULTI ONLY) WATERFALL CLIMBER: Work in sync with a friend to climb a waterfall. You need to time your actions together to complete the challenge and get over the waterfall. All activities are in Free Play Mode. There is also the Outdoor Adventure mode (in varying levels) that have a combination of the different activities listed above-kind of like a triathlon. You can also customize your own course. Also available is the Exercise Training mode. You can pick Full Body Exercise, 5 minute Easy, 5 minute Hard, Relaxed, & Upper body. Each has the activities from above that target those particular areas of exertion. Overall, if you like family games (and not the shooter type gory stuff) this is a pretty fun game to pick up! The graphics are fun, colorful, and cute-more cartoony-which I do not mind in the least. I think it is part of the charm of the Wii games. Overall, if you like familyRead full review
My family and I LOVE this game! It gets all of us off the couch, and competing against each other like crazy! There are levels ranging from easy to difficult so it's enjoyable for all. It also has become part of my daily exercise routine, along with Wii Fit and Dance Dance Revolution, as there are several different exercise modes in Outdoor Challenge. I highly recommend this game, and the other two Wii titles I just mentioned to anyone looking to stay in shape and have fun doing it. We live in New England and the weather does not permit time outside for MONTHS at a time. This game is one good way to avoid the extra winter pounds!
This is a great game fun for all ages. I have a 3 year old nephew that loves and can understand the game. Now he can play the Wii! Whenever my wife and I's friends get together we grab this game and we are all around 35. Active life makes another game to go with the pad so it opens more use for the pad. Unlike the balance board you run on, jump on, and hit the pad which is great for the younger kids and us forgetful adults. There are only 2 problems with it. 1 the pad likes to move around the floor and it is attached to the Wii so you need to adjust it often. 2 with the Super Mario Brothers download you need to disconnect the pad or the controller doesn't work (It ay do it with others as well but I am not sure). All and all not major problems that should discourage somebody from getting this game. Some people have complained about the avatars reaction after losing when the avatar lays down crying and kicking. I highly recomend this game you get a bigger work out on it then the balance board HANDS DOWN!!!Read full review
