The first couple of books in this series are okay, and well written. This makes it a shame that the author had to write a dozen more without resolving any of the issues with his SiFi world. I have never read so many words that add up to no story at all! And yes, I have read every one of these stinking books hoping that somewhere, sometime Weber would start and end this story line. NEVER HAPPENS!

I honestly have to say the only issue I have is how much fluff is in this book to give it more pages than is actually required to convey the story. Who goes through a lot of effort to make a book in any portion of the series to convey which individual item or name type is over and over. Other than the fluff it's a good story

The 'Safehold' books are up to David Weber's usual high standards of outstanding story telling. While the story continues to be very compelling and the characters interesting, this series of books is going too slow for me.The point to the story is the return of humanity to technological greatness and for it to seek out and obtain revenge on it's enemy. After FOUR BOOKS, we haven't gotten past sailing ships!! I feel that the story is moving like a 'near-snail' on Safehold! Let's pick up the pace some David!
Dad was happy. Price was right.
