Overall its pretty sharp for an inexpensive lens. The major shortcoming is the difference between a measured distance subject and what the focus ring shows when you actually arrive at the best focus like it always reading less than the actual distance is and like all lenses its got that big blank guessing space between the 50' and the infinity point. All the lens makers must figure that camera users are with shooting macro, portraits, plinking snapshot at the family picnic. or shooting the moon. nothing in (between) Its even with my soapbox expounding its a pretty good lens for the price. Smooth operation and the "fuzzy donut" isn't outrageous either. Much easier than hanging a spotting scope on your camera body!

I use this lens on Canon 1D-series, it sure is sharp if you focus this good. Hand focusing, but the turn of the front part is easy, but will stay where it is. Lightweight for such a focal length. This is finally a super long lens that I carry with me! Sits in a very good protecting soft lens bag. Have made some awesome images already.
