Sometimes you get a bad one
I installed it next to the existing 4GB stick. As the 4GB filled up, everything ran normally. Once the 8GB started being used, I had errors and segfaults. I shut the machine down, took the original RAM out, so it was just the new 8GB stick. Booted into Memtest, and almost immediately started seeing errors. In less than 5 minutes, Memtest found 17 errors. I pulled the RAM and installed it in the other slot, booted Memtest again. 3 errors in less than a minute, so I shut it down and sent the RAM back for a refund.
