I finally use this item it was so easy to use. I can now get a lot of things done faster. Like sewing hems that has come a loose on many garments that I don't have time to hem by hand needles. Sewing needles eyes are so hard to see. I found a neat trick on YouTube how to thread the machine and you only need to thread the needle with a needle threader. I am glad I purchase this item and will purchase again, If something happen to this one.

Originally purchased this product because I thought it would be handy to have a portable sewing machine that I could take with me and use away from home for eIt is small, lightweightmergency situations. While I do like the size and ease of use, I am disappointed with how it will not lock the stitches, once you are finished sewing your materials together you have to be extremely careful when removing the machine, otherwise your new stitches will pull out very easily and then you have to start over, I am also disappointed with its lack of power, if you are sewing light weight shirt or Jersey types of materials together, it well sew through easily, anything heavier and it bogs down, it simply does not have the power. Sometimes while away from home and when a full size sewing machine is not available, having a simple spool of thread and a needle is still the best way to go.Read full review
Very nice small machine by the leader in sewing machines, easy to handle, a little tricky loading tread, great for trips where you can't bring a sewing machine for those necessary repairs

Works good for strap repair on backpacks and for a number of things you can’t use a full size table top machine for.

I do a lot of stitching and hemming so I figured Handy Stitch would be a big help for small sewing task. It's actually harder to use than it would seem. I wish it was easy to use right out of the box, but I don't know how to use a standard size sewing machine, and this small mechanical version seems as complicated for a sewing novice like me. I do believe in time I will learn to use it with little difficulty, but for now I have some practicing to do before I actually use it to do serious stitching. I'd recommend it as a gadget to have around the house for light sewing jobs.
