This is the 5th copy of this book I have bought and the only one I still have in my possesion. It is by far the best book on curries I have ever seen. Where they originated, what spices are used, from which area and how to prepare them and other needed items (clarified butter, cheese, spice blends, breads and more), for use in pastes and sauces. The first one I loaned to an Indian Restaurant chef-owner here (big mistake). He was so impresed with it, he wouldn't let it out of his sight. If I wanted to read anything in it I had to go to the restaurant and ask him for it. I finally got tired of that, told him he could have it and proceeded to buy myself another which I also gave away, and another, and another. I have always loved my curries and am fairly good at coombining everything except the kitchen sink in them, but this book sent me way over the top with my friends here in Alaska who also enjoy curries. If you like curry and other spicy fooods it is well worth whatever price you have to pay for it. It will open up new worlds for you and your curry loving friends, and may even convert a few of thhose who aren't.Read full review
