Nice acoustic 6 and 12 string slide guitar. Leo can make more notes come out of guitar than anyone I've heard.Sometimes it almost sounds like two people playing. He has tracks like "Vaseline Machine Gun".

Some Of Leo's earliest and greatest work! I was introduced to Leo Kottke's 6 & 12 String Guitar album in 1970, and I was blown away. I had never heard anything like it. My record collection was ruined in a flood, and I remembered this one, found it on ebay, and bought it. Now it all comes back to me...the driving rhythm, the slide precision, the playfulness of some of the tunes. It was groundbreaking in it's day. Some people copy Leo Kottke's style, but all it takes is a listen to this to know the difference between the copies and the real deal! Great CD! BTW: My 15 year old son has now become another fan of Leo's! :)
Of the '60s living folk dinosaurs, none is more deserving of note than Leo Kottke. This is very obvious in listening to his seminal album: 6 and 12 String Guitar. Whether he is finger-picking his masterly way through one of his original compositions or covering the grand J.S.Bach in "Joy of Man's Desiring", you are in for a treat. There is a reason for this original LP to be brought back for a CD encore. It is still awe inspiring - even after more than 40 years.
Nicely remastered, still Leo’s best album overall
