We use these to jar our homemade pickles. Using the colored jars makes the product look just beautiful and adds so much color; more fun to use than plain clear jars. Also we love the retro look. Not only do I like the looks of them, they're handy for storage. In storing left over foods, there's no worry of dangerous chemicals leaching into the food, like with some plastic containers. If you collect buttons, marbles or other things, it makes a lovely container for those. I also like to store things like rice, pastas, oats, cornmeal, so many dry, uncooked mixes. Think about tea bags, chocolate chips, marshmallows....I could go on and on, but I'm sure anyone could find unending uses for these jar, on the counters, in the fridge or in the freezer.....and...easy to clean with the wide mouth opening.

Great 1 Qt canning jars by Ball, a very reputable name in canning products. They are exactly as advertised, were a decent price, and arrived quickly. I store whey from making Greek yogurt in them, and then use it for making bread, so I use them constantly. I did have to replace the screw tops after the acid in the whey reacted with the metal, but that was to be expected. Otherwise, they are perfect!
