I have had the unit installed for about two weeks and I am really impressed with it so far. The System comes with your standard NAV and DVD options as well as the addon options (Bluetooth, XM and IPod Video). At startup system takes about 20 to 30 seconds to be fully up. Since I listen to XM most of the time it can take up to a minute before it picks up a signal. When I go to backup the system blanks out what ever is playing and displays a screen for the back up camera (I am still researching cameras). The menu is easy to move around in. The tuner works as it should, finding local stations and setting presets is easy. DVD works well with both normal DVD's and burned. The Nav works well. I like the ability to zoom in or out of a map. Voice directions worked well. Bluetooth works well with my iPhone 3GS. Imports my contacts no problem and I can play Pandora from my iPhone was well. The only negative I have about the unit is the clock of all things. When listening to the music it docks itself in the upper right corner and you have to ben down to see it. With the NAV screen up, it's in the lower left hand corner and hard to see.Read full review
This is the second unit that I have purchased and the first one even had the iPod port go out on it within the first month AND I still bought another one. Regardless of what other reviewers have said, this unit is nice for the price. I love the navigation with the split screen even though the icons do look a little cartoon-like. The GPS screen is extremely informative with a fast glance with all of teh goodies (MPH, compass, etc). The iPod controller workes good as long as you aren't trying to control the world with it. Book listening is a bit laborious if the unit looses your place in the book (I haven't found a quick way to get back to where I left off during a 5 hour book - fast forwarding through 4.5 hours is a pain) Pay attention here *** If you connect the green-white wire with the pink parking brake wire, you can drive illegally while watching a movie - no need to buy anything and no codes to punch in since there are NO brake codes published yet for the VM9424 (as of this review). This completely eliminates the nag screen. *** There is somewhat of a lag when the unit boots up but not a deal breaker. The touch screen is responsive and there are lots of configuration settings in the setup for both A/V and GPS. It could use more/better GPS voice options, but good for the price. I updated the GPS to the latest firmware and it went flawlessly. New maps for this unit appear to be reasonably priced.Read full review
I bought this unit and received it a couple of days ago and i must say the radio sounds good and volume is good however the clock will Not keep it's time and the navigation always on. I tried to lower volume and still stays on so ever time i start the car the navigation will start telling you which direction to go. I used the navigation first time yesterday and it is way off. I'm not sure if it may need updated or what but, i put in my destination and it had me exit the freeway 4 miles before the fastest exit common since then it pissed me off because of that then it took an extra 3 miles past my destination making me go in a circle. Witch if i knew where the street was i could have been there about 15 minutes before.

Since theres not a lot of people that wrote reviews, I thought I'd write a more detailed review. Shipping is very fast, packaged very well. Unit comes fully loaded with almost everything! GPS, IPOD capable, Rearview camera capable. I installed this into my 2003 Honda Element. I used the 70-1721 wiring harness from this site. All the wires are pre-cut so wiring was easy. The unit itself is fairly easy to navigate around, any dumbass can do it. The sound is incredible, the one thing I like is you can preset the sound to any level when it starts-I sometimes forget I blast it! Navigation is quick, it boots up and finds me from 10-15 seconds. The user interface for this is also very easy, again any dumbass can use it.
We up graded the the factory unit with this. it plays the audio books perfectly unlike the factory unit, the navigation is a good basic start the only thing it doesn't have is lane assist which is okay. it does have text to speech which it's not suppose to have. it's easy to use and there is a volume for the nav. voice. over all for the price you can't beat it and would buy again.if you get this make sure you buy from sonic electronix those guys make sure you get everything you need to get it all to work and fit right
