The Atlas N scale U25B has been around for years. Along with the Minitrix Fairbanks switcher, every modeler has or had a few of these at one time. Still produced today. Some of the older versions were made in Japan for Atlas by Kato, while later versions produced in house. Improvements made along the way. No matter what version you end up with, the performance, detail, and reliability are all excellent. Present versions are decoder ready and multiple road names are offered. As a smaller four axle unit, it will perform fine on tight curves while pulling a load, and slow speed creep is excellent. As a bonus, the U25B is often priced very affordable, a great way for a novice to acquire a high quality loco for a train set upgrade, or for a hobbyist to build a fleet. All in all a good product.
