We used a similar size/type fryer for years but lost the power cord somewhere. It was time to buy a replacement home fryer. This unit in comparison to my older unit as follows: 1. This unit's bowl is 2" longer which means I can fry more food in less the time/batches. 2. The lid/cover doesn't have a metal screen which makes cleaning a breeze. 3. The basket's handle is removable which makes cleaning the wired basket & storage easier. 4. The timer & on-off controls are very easy to understand (either turn it on or set a particular time to cook). 5. I like the second sensor element for temperature accuracy. (There are 2 elements). 6. Finally and most important, the bowl requires less than a half gallon (approx. 60 fluid ounce) of oil.

Easy to take apart an clean and I like all the features. The only two things i don't like is the high and low oil level mark is hard to see and the temperature according to my infrared temp gauge is a little off. That said it performs well and is producing great deep fried fish.
