I read so many reviews on the internetz [sic - am trying to be hip], and most who praise this subwoofer have not had experience with a proper subwoofer, and those who put this sub down are those who have superior subwoofers. Guess what? For the price, this is a great subwoofer. $600 subs are considerably better (yes, I've heard a few), but for the price, this is a great sub. I wouldn't use this sub for critical listening, but for home theater, it's great (again, for the price). If you don't have a subwoofer yet, this Polk is great for getting your feet wet in the subwoofer arena. This is not a fantastic subwoofer, but it is GREAT FOR THE PRICE. Could you do better? Yes (even for the same price -- but you'd have to look hard). Long story short: if you're new to subs, you can't go wrong with this one. It will rattle your house. If you have experience with subs, then you wouldn't even be looking here. I would recommend this to any non-audiophile, and even audiophiles can't say this is a bad sub.Read full review
Polk audio is a well name brand. I have 2 10" in my living room setup. I purchased this item to replace a 15" subwoofer in my theater room. I was some happy with this purchase and sound that I upgraded my receiver from 9.1 to 9.2 so I just ordered my second 505. The 505 is truly awesome and you can not beat the price. It sells for twice as much on another very popular site besides Ebay. The sub arrived much sooner that projected, now if they can do this again so I can hook up the new 505. Very pleased!!

I did my research for months, and the opinions I read are born out by the performance. Taking into account my room size and budget, this dude is hard to beat. I would skip the PSW10 altogether IMHO, under any circumstance and make this your entry level sub, because it will grow with you, and the PSW10 simply won't. Yes, there are other subs with better chops, but not for the money. Simply put, for less than two bills, I heard nothing better. There were a lot of subs that were more expensive, powerful and sonically broader, but not better performers for the space I was placing it in.

I purchased one of these subs in 2008 for my first surround sound system. Still works very well. When I saw these being offered at that price I decided to purchase another one for another system I was putting together. I looked at other used ones and decided why pay as much for a used sub when I could get this one new. I am using this one with (4) cerwin vega DX-9's in stereo mode. As good as it sounded before this sub fills in the gap that you do really realize is there until you turn it on. If you need a sub for an average size listening room this would be a great buy.

I've had mine for about a month (Feb 2016). I bought mine for $10 more than what this auction is listed at. This sub kicks ass... plain and simple. Even at a low setting, this unit rattled my windows... and I'm NOT a bass head. And it rattled them was nice smooth, deep bass. I bought this Polk to move up from an 8" sub made by a reputable manufacturer that just barely let me know that I was missing some bass in my system. Man... was I EVER missing something. No more with this baby... I've got more bass than I know what to do with. At this price, you CANNOT BEAT THIS. Maybe even up to $500, you can not beat this price. And for a 12" sub, the size of this unit is smaller than lots of other 12" subs. It was just about an inch bigger in all three dimensions than my 8" sub. IF YOU'VE BEEN CONSIDERING GETTING A SUB... GET THIS ONE. This sub is the best thing that has happened to my audio system in a very long time. Here's the short version of my review: BUY IT NOWRead full review
