    The base is not plastic. It's solid Aluminum.

    This scale is well made and is accurate. Repeatable measures can be made. If you weigh a dumbbell, you can re-weigh it again in two or three weeks, and will read the exact same weight, very consistent. When using for recovery or charging a system, you should use the Z/T to zero out the scale, so the display will be the exact amount of refrigerant transferred. No need to do any math. If you take longer than 10 minutes, the display will turn off, (battery saver) but pressing the Off/On button will turn the display back on, and your 'zero' setting will still be in the scale's memory.. It will still remember your zero setting next week, so be sure to use the Z/T before your next job.. You can set the display for pounds, Oz or Kg.. I like Oz, since I only work on small systems..

    Great Buy!! Why spend more?!

    Amazing tool for HVAC use. I have tried to trip this thing up but it functions perfectly. No matter where the item to be weighed is placed on platform the reading is identical. More importantly, the repeatability is spot on. I do not know the technology used but it works as well (maybe better!) than a name brand costing hundreds more. You will not be disappointed.

    Used this scale one time so far...

    The scale comes with a rugged plastic case, as is expected for this type of scale. The scale itself appears to be of good quality, and makes repeatable measurements. I do not have a weight standard so could not check the absolute accuracy.

    Great Product!

    Works great! Accurate and reliable. I use it for all kinds of weighing activities around the shop. Its handy when dispensing ATF out of a 5 gal bucket so i can tell what to charge the customer and it also works great for refrigerant charging and recovery.
