The beam is very bright and the zoom is fantastic. Construction is very rugged and it is light weight considering it is all aluminum. Buyers should be aware that there is a huge ratings inflation going on with most brands of 18650 batteries. If this battery were truly 4000 mAh, the battery alone would be worth the price of the set. Alas, it is only about 800 mAh, about 1/5 of the capacity on the label. As a result, and due to the extreme brightness of this flashlight, the battery will need charging after less than an hour of use. If you buy a battery that really has 3000 or so mAh capacity, you will pay about 10 bucks, but it will last 3 to 4 times longer. The batteries do recharge well, so battery cost is not a problem. In spite of the battery issue, I went back and bought two more of these. Very pleased with it.Read full review

The light is sufficiently bright and the adjustable zoom works well. Other than that, it is just another flashlight that boasts "3 modes-High, Low, Strobe" but doesn't work in the real world. The problem is that every time you press the button, the mode changes to the next. There is no way to ensure that the light stays in the same mode every time you use it. I just cant imagine a reason for this constant cycling. If you want to use the light on "high", you have to press the button 3 times every time you use it. When you turn it on again (even after it sits for a week) it will automatically switch to "Low" and then "Strobe" until you get back to "High". If the light were able to be locked in one mode it would be a practical tool. I wanted to use it for Law Enforcement where we turn our light on and off many times a day. With this one, I have to press the button 3 times every time I use it! Also, the retention ring around the body (used to activate the light with the palm of your hand while shooting) is made of soft rubber and useless for what it is intended. You cant activate the light because it is too soft. They are supposed to be made of a hard material so you can put pressure on it to press the tailcap button with the palm of your hand. It is simply a reverse-engineered product that the engineers didn't understand.Read full review

just got 2 of these. one seems great, but the second one's o-ring seal broke and fell off the first time i unscrewed the cap to insert batteries. this second one also has the bezel rotating really easily, almost freely. the first one's bezel has a confidence-inspiring resistance to rotation, so i'm guessing the second one has a faulty or missing seal in the bezel. both seem to work great, especially for the price. robust case, small. i'd probably buy it again, but i will be taking care not to get them wet. one other thing -- the strap loop is far too small for a man's hands. might be ok for kids and most women.

A good flashlight with all the accessories you'll need/want in the package. The front bezel moves out and in to control the breadth of the light. There is an AAA battery insert if you want to use standard batteries. The LED chip is bright. But I tested this flashlight as putting out 518 lumens, not the 8,000 advertised. For any household application, 500 lumens should be plenty. Even if you use it as a bicycle headlamp, this should do the trick. Works particularly well if you mount it to the barrel of a shotgun to shoot critters in your yard at night. I have a pile of dead raccoons to show for mine.

I got a pair of these as I had a couple batteries from a headlamp I bought some time ago. My thoughts: - if 8000LM is supposed to be Lumens, it's not that bright. Even at full batteries I have a 700 lumen flashlight that surpasses these little guys, but I will say they're bright for a small flashlight. (Unless there's a super setting somewhere that I'm missing) -They do indeed have a working focus, which clicks as you rotate so it'll stay where you set it. -I have not been mean to my flashlight so I can't say exactly how durable they are. Overall, for what it is it's not bad. Only downside is getting the batteries... if it came with one as well as a charger that would be superb.
