I have dealt with Friendstore multiple times and very pleased. Communicative and quick to send packages. Now, the neck. I fitted this one onto a strat. Just some minor adjustment to the heel. Intonation was nearly spot on when I bolted it up. Nice clean maple and ZERO fret issues. No cutters, no high frets. Even the nut was cut properly with the strings only just sitting into the slots. I AM SUPER HAPPY. All of this meant so much less work than I have had to do in the past. Now this old strat body has a new lease on life and a very sweet tone. Also, the shaping of the headstock, very nice. the cut of the neck is very smooth and quick. Strings are laying just above the frets, very nice action. Tuners holes perfectly aligned. Fret markers right on. Good snug neck joint on the body too. Definitely be buying more of these. Love these guys.Read full review

Item description says the holes drilled for the machine heads are 10mm. My neck arrived with tuner holes only 8mm wide. I ordered 10mm tuners for my build at the same time I ordered this neck and am now out $35 on tuners because they don't fit. Otherwise, the figuring in the wood is nice and the neck is well constructed. Don't trust the description, this neck has 8mm holes for the machine heads. 5/16" = 8mm.

Great neck! Don't listen to complainers. Yes, the tuner holes are 8mm, (which is in fact a valid vintage size) but that is actually not a problem at all. You get a $15 tool (model airplane propeller reamer) and ream them, from the back, about half way through. That way, the tuner fits perfectly, and the top side where the shaft comes through is still 8mm...because that is the diameter of the screw-in collar. Easy-peasy, and now you have a PERFECT fit, one you cannot get with straight 10mm holes. With my hands, it takes about 45 turns of the reamer to get to the proper depth. Remember, FROM THE BACK, otherwise you'll get the regular sloppy 10mm hole.

I bought this neck to build a parts guitar. Yes you will need to do some set up work on this neck. this is all part of building. If you want to have a playit out of the box guitar then buy one from a music store. This is rite of passage to build your own. So be prepared to put some love and effort and a little elbow grease into the build. You are putting yourself into the music and into your guitar. Yes you will have to do a bit of light sanding on some bodies for fitment reasons and yes, you will want to check the edges of the frets and you will do well to get a basic set up kit to make sure your neck relief is properly adjusted. There are procedures to drilling the holes for the neck pocket holes and setting the nut. You may want to round the edges of the fret board. You may want to add a waterslide decal. This neck will require a little work to be a part of a guitar and to play properly. This is a great neck and has a great feel to it.Read full review
