I read several reviews on this knife before purchasing. While most people were fairly positive overall about the Gerber Ghostrike, some thought it fell short of other models. But it is unfair to compare this knife to models costing 3 and 4 times as much. It's an 'apples and oranges' comparison. Considering the price point, the Gerber Ghostrike is a tremendous value. It's not a survival knife, it's a lightweight, self-defense knife that is good enough for everyday carry.

Well, I have to give Gerber 5 stars for the concept. As many of us know, a concealed weapon is not always a gun. And, if you have significant knife training, it can save lives and defeat an attack quickly and quietly. Unfortunately, beyond the design and concept, this knife gets 2 stars for quality, construction, and usability (hence, the 3 stars overall). The whole reason for my purchase of this knife was NOT to open letters and packages. It is and should be considered a weapon. Period. Well, this weapon misses the mark. First, they use metal rivets to hold the knife in the sheath that is apparently stronger than the blade. Therefore, the blade dulls very quickly (bad plan for a weapon). Secondly, the handle is skeleton (I assume for weight) but is very flexible (second bad idea for a weapon). So, in the end, I have a weapon with a dull blade (just from merely placing it in the sheath) and a flexible handle. Needless to say, it's become my 3rd string backup as I search for a better replacement. I don't recommend it if you're looking for a functional weapon that is easy to conceal. I do however recommend it if you want to "look" like someone trained to use it as a weapon, enhance your "cool" factor, and want a false sense of security.Read full review

very nice knife and belt sheath.. have it horizontal in an appendix position so i can get to it with either hand if needed and it works perfectly. needed sharpening, hit it with a lansky kit and the blade is pretty hard. got it paper cuttin sharp but not shavin sharp yet. but overall i am happy with it.

So i had been looking for a fixed blade knife to carry as part of my EDC. I have tried a couple other knives but this one is the best i've found so far. Most of the others did not stay concealed or were loose and somewhat clunky. I have been wearing this everyday since I bought it (scout carry) and its great. Stop debating on it and just buy the thing.

Not so quality and well made product but is is okay as secondary or concealed-carry knife.
