My favorite music is classic rock (the 70's) and doo-wop, and a little country, and I usually have no patience for opera. I suppose many people would say that my taste is low-brow, and I really wasn't expecting to be moved by this material. I still don't much care for the first six tracks, and often skip past them, but by track 7 the material really grows on me. After that it just gets better and better, and by the end I'm really pumped up by the beauty of the music, and the power of the singers. Sometimes (to my wife's dismay)I'll even sing along. If you're like me (unfamiliar with this kind of music, and maybe even a little prejudiced against it) it may take a while for the album to grow on you. But by the 3rd or 4th hearing you'll be amazed at how moving and exciting the 3 Tenors can be. After I fell in love with this sound, I got two other 3 Tenor concerts. I think this one (1990?) is the best, and the next one (1993 or 94 ?) is almost as good, but the last one was disappointing. I think that as they aged, their voices weakened, especially Carreras, who had major health problems. By the way. my apologies to most opera lovers. I understand that liking opera doesn't automatically make you a snob. But it does seem to have that effect on some folks. Bottom line: GREAT ALBUMRead full review
