My vintage Craftsman 3-wheel, 12" band saw still had the factory rubber tires on it, and they were not in good shape. Deformed in some spots, frayed in others and generally looking like they had passed their expiration date, I was in need of replacements. Seeing as how urethane tires are all the rage, I decided to give them a shot, but wanted to make sure I got a quality product, given the hassle involved in replacing them. That's where these bad boys come into the mix. I was pleasantly surprised to see they were Made in USA, and that gave me the confidence that they would be made properly, to tight tolerance and with high quality materials. When they arrived and I opened them up, I was not disappointed in the least. The installation was pretty straight forward, and most of my time was spent cleaning up the wheels and removing what was left of the OE rubber tires. The hardest part is, of course, installing the new tires. I remove the wheels from the machine, and opted to clamp the wheel vertically in a large bench vise (delicately, using cloth or a glove) and then pull the rest of the tire on by hand. This takes about 30 seconds at most, and is far easier and faster than messing with a wooden dowel or bothering with heat. Once installed, the product looks and functions amazingly well. Quieter runner and much better grip, without needing as much tension. Given that it's a 3-wheel band saw, I'm sure less tension will help reduce the risk of breaking blades, not to mention less wear on the bearings. Overall, these tires are simply an outstanding product and absolutely a great value. Last but not least, because they are made in USA, these replacement tires are something that I am proud to use on my vintage Craftsman band 12", 3-wheel band saw. Highly recommended!Read full review

These pulley tires are very sturdy. Much better than the original rubber ones. Follow the instructions and they will go on with some effort. It's not easy, but it's worth it.
