    sick of cap filter wrenches

    i have used many cap wrenches to remove oil filters from hard to reach spaces. I bought this wrench and it works as it is intended to plus it can be used on different sizes. a good quality tool that i can add to my collection. I thought i could use on my Harley-Davidson oil filter but it doesn't go that small. Oh well. I am glade i bought this. No more smashed knuckles.

    Good idea, poor execution

    It looked like a great idea. I have other adjustable filter wrenches from KD Tools that snap onto a ratchet or extension, so I'm familiar with the concept. The problem that I have run into with this unit is that it does not adjust small enough for the small import car filters, and does not adjust big enough for the 3/4 ton truck filters. I did get it to work on a Range Rover, but it crushes the filter when you apply torque. Then the rubber grippers are constantly falling off. Then should have been bonded on. I wouldn't recommend it or give it to a friend.

    Fits just about all regular oil filters. Thumbs HI!

    It is an intriguing design. Works really well on textured filters, the slick ones need a different composition rubber on the feet for a better grip. I guess that is a tradeoff of function and durability. Its grip will improve through use.

    a little too small

    It was more useful in specific situations, the rubber slips when you are in contact with oil so its better to remove the rubber part. The arms are I little too short and its hard to get a good grip on the filter because it never gets in angle to grab properly, so it became a secondary tool to have as spare. I end up giving to a friend that don't have any of these tools and he barely uses it. Looks great tho...

    Run away

    This is a terrible product that is "Good for Nothing"! I did my best to make it work and no, noop, nada. It needs too much space to be functional and I don't have that luxury on any of my 7 cars (American, European and Japanese cars). It moves and works only in one direction, to open and that itself is a total failure. It fails to maintain any functional grip over the filter. It fails to move the filter. It falls off the ranch with even no effort, in the most carful hand. I would give it No star or a negative star rating, if I had a choice. Do yourself a favor and run away. You only waste your money here, later-on, you time and your sanity! I only can recommend it to my mother-in-law but she never does the oil change by herself:)
