I had always felt that the R1 was more a $500 printer than an $800 printer that you get when you buy new. When finding this deal for under $500 for a refurbed R1 unit i figured i would give it a go. Man am i glad i did. Like any printer these days there were a few minor bugs and kinks to work out but 48 hours later I'm getting repeatable prints accurate to 0.02mm or better every time. There are a lot of options for printers at this price range but i can assure anyone that none are this accurate. The R1 is a strictly business kind of printer, short of the auto-leveling it does not have many bells and whistles which is why i love it. More frills means more things to break, this thing is strictly accurate which is what really matters in printing. Words of advice if you buy one. First, buy lots of blue painters tape, and glues sticks. Second the first thing you should print is the top mount spool holder from thingiverse, the factory one is horrible, and lastly do not use the matter control software that comes with the machine, even with the different slicer engines in it, it leaves a lot to be desired. your best to just DL Cura directly or spend the $150 to buy simplify 3d. If you get that far, you will figure out the rest pretty quick, if nothing else visit the robo3d community forum, they are helpful people and will for sure get you on track making quality prints.Read full review

I got this printer and despite the one I bought being refurbished, it included everything that is included with the new version and was in great condition. I've been using this printer for about a year now, and I have no complaints about it. There are some things to consider when 3D printing however, that goes with any 3d printer. Any 3d printer you buy will take a bit of getting used to as well as some minor adjustments in print settings to achieve optimal performance. This printer is a good value and I really love the large build volume which makes it more practical than most other printers. The customer service is very available and friendly as well (I called them for some material and print recommendations). I recommend this printer to anyone who asks me.
