Good product, within its limits. New users should be aware that the review question, "is the sound realistic?" is absurd. It is a controller, not an instrument. For more experienced users, I think it an excellent value. Generous assignable control options (8 pots, 4 pads) and, for me, the most important, a full size keyboard. Not mini-keys. Trade-off here is simple - at this price point, and size, you're not going to do better than 2 octaves. Shrink the keys to Toyland, and you can find 4 octaves in a box this size. If you are playing out at all, the Gator Bags are great. A terrific middle ground between rudimentary gig bags and a hard case.

I am really enjoying the ALESIS. The keys are large and responsive enough to do runs and chord changes. Sturdy construction. Very nice unit......

Metal plates under the keys - very good! Endless knobs for those who like. A little bit hard pads, but I think it can be solved by adjusting the velocity curve. Only one thing goes to cons: there is no proper mapping for Ableton and Reason!
