Somber and suspenseful post-war offering reuniting stars Dana Andrews & Gene Tierney plus director Otto Preminger from their classic “Laura”, except this time the story is not about a missing young woman, but about a bad cop unwittingly “framing” an innocent suspect in a manslaughter case. Excellent blu-ray DVD with tack sharp b&w images, but, though there is romance, subject matter may not be everyone’s cup of tea.

This is a great movie, one of the best ever Filmnoir films of all time. The reason I said it wasn't a good value because it was very expensive, over $35 for a old movie bluray is pretty ridiculous. Unless you are a die hard fan of the film, like I am, no one would find this worth the money. It was the last one I saw for sale anywhere is the only reason I shelled out the money for it.

While not hard core noir this film noir is still a worthwhile addition to any fan's collection. The direction, acting, and story is topnotch and the film has never looked better than it does in this release. Recommended.
