I bought this printer as a printer for my house, my friend has a significantly more expensive one, and I can't afford one like that. I had heard good things about the i3 rebrands at work, and decided to give it a try, let's start by listing a few pros and cons. Pros: Excellent print quality at it's price point Comes with a generous amount of starter filament (PLA, bright red) Has plenty of spare nuts and screws, as they are small and easy to lose. Comes with the tools required for assembly, like wrenches and a screwdriver. Cons: Instructions are a bit hard to follow, when wiring use the picture schematic instead of the directions as they do not completely match up. No SD card was provided in my shipment, like the picture. I am not sure if this is normal or a packaging error. If you do not have a computer with a disc drive, you will not have easy access to the directions, as they are not provided in paper form, they are on a CD. Construction takes a long time, definitely a half-day project. Does not come with a scraper, tweezers, or the like for actually managing your prints. Also note, that SDXC cards DO NOT WORK with the printer. I have confirmed this by testing both SDHC and SDXC cards, which means that you are obviously limited to a size of 32GB, this isn't a con, just a notice to those who do not have any SDHC cards. I've done some calibration prints, and they have been of excellent quality. Both prints took ~20 minutes (my friend's printer prints much slower, it takes about an hour and a half), and provides on-par quality. Bridging seems to be a tad difficult for the printer, but with some messing with temperatures and such, I think it is more than capable. If you aren't afraid of building a wiring, this is a steal! -1 star for honestly awful directions of assembly, but the end-product is worth the effort. *Also note, this is not a prusa printer, rather it uses a prusa-made design. Name-brand prusa printers are much, much more expensive and are constructed out of aluminum, this construction of this printer is a wood-based body of some kind, and is unexpectedly sturdy. The motors and extruder appear to be of good quality however. Glass build-plate, that heats very well. Just a forewarning for those who are expecting this to be a name-brand prusa printer.Read full review

Actual brand CTC Prusa I3 clone The price range for this entices people who are new to jump into the vast world of 3d printing . Everything was packed well and was the best part, the first impression broke the gaurd and set me up for bewilderment. Most eerything included is of ok quality, the frame itself is plywood (thin) and lacked anything to be desired. Once assembled it worked but not well..The following are issues I encountered and had to fix. 1. Screws would come loose due to vibrations (more on this in a few). 2. Software included didn't work period. 3. The only way I could print was via SD card. Only after I resoldered the card reader back on when it seperated from the lcd board. 4.Instructions were difficult at times to understand, but with goog and tube you will figure it out. 5. States it will do ABS. I use a laser temp gun to monitor bed and nozzle temps. Neither bed or nozzle are actualy whats stated on the lcd screen. I crank it to 260C to hit 200 for printing PLA. I took advantage of a moment where I had it printing good (good enough) and made some top mounts with 8mm bearings to secure my z axis rods to stop wobble. Earlier I mentioned that I had to keep tightening the screws from vibration. I put anti vibration pads under the frame to reduce this effect. Overall I have learned alot about the machine, how it functions and how it shouldn't.. I'm currently working on flashing the board with a new bootloader as mine seems to either not be there or not functioning properly. I need to adjust configurations for new parts I installed, and can't because i cant upload the sketch. Overal worth the money I'm sure, with some digging you can find everything you need to make this into a decent rig. I recommend this as it is inexpensive and will teach you what you need to know to maintain such a device.Read full review

This is my first 3d printer. The most difficult part of the build was to find the instructions. I found this site g gle (wiki Acrylic_Prusa_I3_build_instruction(8mm)) and some videos on y tube. My first mod was to print and install print bed pads to make it easier to level the bed. Go to thingiverse thing number 1794308 I enjoy this printer.

I give all products a benefit of a doubt do not buy this product my reason being as a beginner wanting to see what 3D printing is about this is garbage number one the instructions to this product seem like it was wrote and published by Google Translate they are super hard to understand and half of it didn't even pertain to the product I purchased number two this is just an annoyance but they portray the outside frame to be either metal or a hardened plastic it is neither it is made out of cheap plywood so you can understand where I'm coming from when I say don't drop this don't bump this don't over tighten your screws because it'll instantly destroy this item Number three now this is a quality control issue you receive 1 x axis 1 y- axis and 2 z-axis Motors not given this is a Chinese product so giving it is a Chinese product I received 2 z-axis Motors with nothing to connect to them and it's not like they didn't include the wires the connections to the motors we're not soldered on the motors so given that this product doesn't come fully assembled in the parts are not even complete half of the time Oh FYI the CD Rom include the date is all corrupted not meaning the disc is scratched I'm meaning the data that was entered to it is corrupted so you can't even see the software that they provide At the end of the day if this one broke would go out and buy another one no I would not buy another one I've ever seen I hope this is a helpful review to you shining some light on this productRead full review

Be patient, google is your friend, watch a video guide to assembly and don't over tighten the nuts. The frame is one eighth inch 3 ply ply wood, it crushes real easily. All parts were labelled and numbered making life easy. Once built, calibrate calibrate calibrate. Get some calipers to measure the height of the bed at all four corners. Remember, google is your friend.
