I first fitted a set of these projector kits to my 56-plate Ford Mondeo ST a couple of years ago, as the O.E halogen units left a lot to be desired! And I wasn't going to be one of the countless number of people who simply fitted a HID kit into reflector housings, subsequently blinding everyone. They were very easy to fit to my particular headlamp units, thanks to an easy removal design and relatively easy removal of the lense. One big tip is to retro fit the projector units and refit them to the car with the plastic/glass lense OFF. This allows you to align the beam pattern easily. But it also allows you to tweak the alignment of the projector and the O.E main beam pattern (if your car uses a separate main beam bulb). I say this because if the kit is simply fitted without taking this into account then the main beam was way too high relative to the road!! I fitted mine with some nice 5000K HID's, and you're always guaranteed a nice strict cut-off to save other road users eyes! And the Bi-Xenon function is incredible when combined with the factory main beam units!! I calculated that I have approximately 12,000 lumens on main beam with the projectors and factory H1 main beam - which is FANTASTIC at night. One niggle is that the reflector housing of the projector units are not manufactured to any degree of high standard. They vary in the uniformity of the light distribution within the beam pattern, some give a more tight hot-spot (after adjusting the bulb) and some give more uniform flood. But most will give you a satisfactory distribution of light on both dipped, and high beam, especially for the cost. The big downside, at least for me, is that after running these projectors for two years and approx 40,000 miles, is the reflective coatings within the reflector broke down and started to fail! Leading to a gradual loss of light (mainly the central hot-spot) and eventually necessitated replacement projectors! So bare this in mind if you do a lot of mileage, or your headlights are on a lot of the time. I also suspect this is in part down to the relatively high UV and temperature flux from the 5000K HID's, so this shouldn't be an issue with halogen or LED. Read full review

I've fitted 3 sets of these on the kids' cars - MASSIVE improvement over the normal reflector headlights - literally night and day.... Excellent value for money compared to the retrofit kit industry leaders - it is the quality/reliability that will no doubt be main difference

For the price, I was surprised at the quality of this item, especially the robust glass magnifying lens. There is an electric coil operated deflector which I presume is to enable high/lo beam. A few adapters were enclosed to accommodate fitting to a vehicle but I was making a light for a submersible ROV, so even removed the coil to save weight.

You cannot go wrong with the price of these! The photo I have uploaded is just one projector. Make sure you buy two! The second photo is darkened so you can see the beam pattern and cut off better. 55w 6000k
