For whatever reason the charcoal filter is about 1/4" shorter than the sediment filter. The sediment filter seals nicely by compression as you tighten up the housing. There are (2) gaskets with the charcoal filter that are supposed to do the same thing when you tighten the housing, but in fact after tightening the charcoal filter, it still flops around end to end and there is no way this can create a watertight seal and force all the water through the filter. I had to replace the bottom gasket with a thicker one I found at Home Depot. It's a Danco #80346 Bathroom Pop-up drain gasket. Worked perfectly for $1.27. The plastic mounting frame appears to be substantial, only time will tell if it holds up. I mounted mine solidly by anchoring it through both the bottom and top holes. Otherwise it might wrack and crack when tightening or loosening the filter housings. I also used food grade silicone grease on the threads of the filter housings and on the silicone sealing gaskets on the rim of the housings for additional sealing and ease of removal.Read full review

Both filters housings leaked. the gasket serf-ice had A lip where the molds met so I sanded them with fine sand paper to smooth out. the sediment filter side worked great no leaks. carbon side still leaked. I tried to cut the spacer for the carbon filter in half wrecked it could not get it to seat with out pushing very hard on the housing. I made one out of garden house for now til i find another one. I ended up putting A bead of clear silicone on the gasket service. Stop leaking. When you tighten the collars they seem to bottom out before they are tight. Maybe I just received lemon. Very easy to install. working good now. Will know when I change the filters.

Got the water filtration system all hook and works great so far. Would like to try a 1 micron sediment filter once too see if that further improve my water or not. Just trying to do my share with all this plastic waste and making company's rich over something as simple as water. This works at a low cost and buy filter replacement in multi packs, that makes even cheaper for your water filtration.

I installed the filter today, and noted the fact that it leaks between the collar and the filter housing. I haven't figured out a way to fix it yet, but hopefully it will stop leaking when I change out the o ring. Besides the leaking, the filter is doing the job so far. Time will tell as to whether or not this is a good product.

I had no problems installing this. Using the push on fittings from the hardware store, it literally only took about 30 minutes to do. We noticed a remarkable difference in our water immediately. We have a very strong odor of chlorine in our water and we have minerals. Haven't had it long enough t tell on the minerals, but the Chlorine smell is GONE. Wish I would have bought this years ago.
