1. WWE Tag Team Title Match: Edge and World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit v WWE Tag Team Champions La Resistance – It’s sad to say that in this day and age, I would almost wish for a team like La Resistance to come back, if nothing else to fill a tag division that doesn’t exist. They remind me very much of the Fabulous Rogeau Brothers, who I thought played a great role as well. I was a little shaky with having Benoit in a tag match being that he was wrestling Kane for the title later in the show. It was a pretty solid match, nothing spectacular, but nothing abhorrent either. It served its purpose of being a strong opener. RATING - 7.5/10 2. Chris Jericho v Tyson Tomko – My wrestling history is somewhat sketchy from 2000 – 2009. I did not watch wrestling much during that time. I do know that at this point and time Chris Jericho is embroiled in a feud with Christian and Trish Stratus, and Tyson Tomko had just been recently added to the mix. Jericho is almost always gold, and Tomko is able to provide a gold foil in this match. The match wasn’t very long, and it was much like the match above. Because of that, I am able to cut the quality some slack, because it did something to increase the storyline. RATING – 7.5/10 3. WWE Intercontinental Title Match: Randy Orton, champion, vs. Shelton Benjamin. Shelton was always a go to guy in the WWE during this time when good matches needed to be had. More importantly, you could really see Orton beginning to develop as a serious contender. Without question, Orton was showing at this time, as evidenced by his PPV promo that he had all the tools to go to the top. This match was good by all standards, but still felt mildly lacking. I think it was still a good time though. Rating – 8.5/10 4. WWE Women’s Title Match: Victoria, Gail Kim, Lita and Trish Stratus in this one. RATING – 6/10 5. Eugene vs. Jonathan Coachman – RATING – 4/10 6. WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: WWE World Heavyweight Champion Chris Benoit v Kane. To me, this was a big match dream match. It may seem a little odd, but both of these guys have always been solid on their own, and putting them together was a very smart move. Kane was Benoit’s first real challenge, and Kane has always filled that role well. I know many doubted Benoit’s main event potential, but I didn’t. I’m also one of the ones who isn’t going to hold what happened against him. The crowd was into this match, and I felt it really delivered. Great match, awesome ending sequence. Not a perfect score, but close. RATING – 9/10 7. Hell in a Cell: Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels. Well, what else could really be said about these two? Two of the best of all time, in a match that has been nothing but classics time in and time out. There was a lot of heat between the two going into the match, and the feud was red hot. The match itself… was in my opinion just a little better than the match above, only because it had an instant classic type feel. It was probably the type of match and the length. I think the only thing keeping me from giving this a 10 is that it seemed too long. Michaels and Bret Hart did a 60 minute plus match, but it did not seem as long as this. I guess there was enough time to keep the crowd from going fanatic over it. Overall, though, something that needs to be seen. RATING – 9.5/10 Overall, I felt the show was a good one. Well worth the price paid. Good structure. OVERALL RATING - 7.5/10Read full review
At the 2004 edition of Bad Blood, there are only two matches from the event worth having this DVD. And they are the world title match between Kane and Chris Benoit (RIP) and the Hell in a Cell match between Triple H and Shawn Michaels. There was so much potential of having Kane and Benoit continue their rivalry over the (then) World Heavyweight Championship. And the Hell in a Cell match between Shawn Michaels and Triple H still stands to this day as the longest Hell in a Cell match in WWE history. When I first saw this match-up between the two in the Main Event of Bad Blood (2004) on the best Hell in a Cell matches over a decade ago, I had more respect for Triple H and Shawn Michaels based on their performances.
