These speakers are very interesting 6x9's. If you're coming from a set of Pioneers you'll quickly notice that the sound on these alpine's are VERY clear. You may or may not like that but if you're a true audiophile, you're gonna appreciate it a ton. For example, instead of hearing the bass vibrate annoying loud, the Alpines have a more tight, clear, *feel it in your seat and see the mirror rattle* type of bass. These speakers also have great power handling. For example if you are using a Alpine CDA-7873 like I have that runs only at 27 Watts RMS, you'll notice it sounds very clear without distortion. Now of course I did install a 94 watts rms x4 channel amp with these alpine spr-69's and they really come to life! You could also buy the KTP-45 power pack if you have a weak head unit amp (like a 14 watts rms Head Unit). Now as for the tweeters, if you came from pioneers like I did once again. You'll notice these alpines highs aren't as bright but more warm and smooth. This is because they use ONE silk tweeter opposed to THREE (cheap) PET tweeters like the cheaper pioneers. If you like smooth and warm to come out of the alpines, I'd set your treble EQ at -2. If you're like me and you like it a bit brighter, these silk tweeters on the alpines will NOT disappoint. Just set your treble EQ to a modest +1 like I have it at. Now for the things you get with the speakers. You get new metal fasteners (super useful if your cars fasteners are old/worn and you need the speaker to sit in TIGHT and solidly, you also get an ABS plastic extender that allows the speaker to mount flush against the door instead of letting sound escape throughout the inside of the door; it increases SPL and the real reason I think alpine included it, is because of their patented H.A.M.R cone w/ extended movement so that it doesn't hit the speaker mesh during high excursion. At the end of the day, these Alpine SPR-69's were not only an interesting install, but also a very smooth CLEAN sounding setup with enough speaker excursion to *feel the bass* instead of hearing "banging" which is what most pioneer speakers do. If you like clear bass and smooth silk tweeters all sitting in a SPL increasing enclosure, these are the 6x9's for you.Read full review

I paired these up with an Alpine CDE-W265BT head unit. They sound great together. It took a while to get the proper EQ setting to work for the majority of my music, because I listen to such a wide variety of music. (But when I did, OH Yes!) These speakers have excellent high end and can detail out the sweetest bass. Unfortunately it now has me skipping through a lot of songs just to find one that has that quality boom that I want to hear. After all, what good it having the power if you don't use it. Very Clean sound. You will not regret these speakers.
Amazing speakers! I have a set of Alpine SPR-60Cs as my replacement door speakers in a 2012 Smart Fortwo Passion Cabriolet and added the SPR-69s to the rear cargo door. I have both sets running on an Alpine PDX-F4 (4.100)and they sound amazing! I also have two Alpine Type-R 8 inch subs in a bandpass box running on a PDX-F6(4.150) in two channel mode(2.300). My little car screams louder and clearer than I anticipated. Alpine Type-R speakers combined with Alpine's PDX amps = perfect balance of power and clarity.
Good bass tone. All 4 speakers in my car are R type. Sounds great with all types on music.
