This is a great antenna, but with caveats. Reception quality and the channels you receive varies significantly based on where you place it. You are likely to get better results if you are in a high-rise, and can place the antenna on a window facing the transmitters you would like to watch. Unfortunately, I live on the ground floor, and get 10-12 channels only if I place the antenna indoors, on a window. Even then, the reception isn't too good, with or without the amplifier. I eventually had to utilize the supplied long cable (I by the way do not think it is 20', more like 15'), and fixed the antenna outside. Higher up is generally better, but even then, the reception is very sensitive to the direction you place the antenna in. My sweet spot gets around 40 channels on a good day - if its cloudy/raining, hmm. I can catch some transmitters as far as 75 miles away. antennaweb advises me I can get a max of 57 channels in my area, with a directional antenna, placed 30 ft high. So to summarize, know the limitations, and if you can work around those, and are ready to experiment with placement, you are likely to be satisfied. You may not have a good experience if you assume the product is going to work perfect right out of the box. All the best.Read full review

I live just outside of Phila., Pa. ... It pulls in about 50 channels, most of which I wouldn't watch ... The few I would, locals channels around the city and PBS are pretty clear, but prone to pixelation, especially if it's windy ... I'm used to HD cable, which I have on my living room tv, so the pixelation is way less than ideal ... The best placement is high on a window ... l bought this just to see how it would work on my dormant bedroom tv, because I refuse to pay $10. a month to my greedy cable company for an extra box - the outcome is it's still dormant ... I'd only watch tv by this antennae if it was a last resort.

This antenna is better than the similar antenna I used before. It is on the 4th floor in a window that points toward the city and broadcasting towers there. After much testing for best placement I was able to pull in most channels within about 30 miles - direct line of sight. One tower is variable depending on time of day for signal. Having the longer cord allowed me more options for placement. I certainly do require the amplifier which seems to work well. This is a good value at $30 and I'd need to spend closer to $70-$90 to get a better indoor antenna. Certainly an outdoor antenna would be better, but that is not an option. I do recommend this antenna if you can get a deal on it.

Used in a class B RV. Just stick in back window and TV scans for local stations. works great depending on where you are at. We just like to pick up local news and weather stations while traveling. I previously had an outdoor antenna on a mast but this one is less obtrusive and the amplifier picks up more stations than the outdoor one without amplifier.

The antenna performs perfectly, my reception is much better. The only small complaint is the two suction cups provided to place the antenna. They are pretty worthless. Much better would be a two sheet rock screw kit.
