This Mercury Dime was bought for numismatic detail of the coin. It was not bought for silver content. I buy bullion for that. This dime will not be melted for silver reclaim. This coin is good enough that my local coin/bullion dealer will pay a numismatic value over common melt value. Unfortunately, my local grocer will only accept it at legal tender face value because he has a retail grocer license in my state, not a pawn broker license.

The Mercury Dime was designed by A.A. Weinman, and became the US dime in 1916 and lasted until 1945. This dime "...is one of the most popular in all of American numismatics." With the winged helmeted liberty on one side and the bundle of wooden rods with an axe on the other, this dime is one of the most artistic in all of US coinage. The dime contains 0.07234 troy oz of silver, making it an easy way to invest in silver, and enjoy the beauty of the coin.

There are times in ones life that seem extraordinary. your coin seems to meet the credentials and I am sure your personality is of an equal nature.. If our touch could make us see the coins travel over time imagine what we would see. Morgan, Vanderbilt, Scott, Carnegie or Hughes and Ford and Edison.the list spirals into the future along with the fabulous things the men of this great nation have built with the very coins that you may now hold in your hand.

Brilliant shine with fine detail. There are wear patterns on the hair and back pillar. Vines are in very good condition. Center of the post should have a divided line which is the most used area of a coin but this particular coin shows wear within this area. Excellent purchase.
