The 1938-D/D Buffalo Nickel is a common, but popular, variety. The mintmark shows clear doubling from having been punched into the die twice. Mint State examples are available by the thousands, often in Gem condition. The finest examples certified by PCGS (as of February 2012) include 60 MS-67s.
I have found in my long history of collecting coins which is been about 35 years now the PCGS is probably the best and most reliable grading service out there NGC would probably be the next but I like the fact that PCGS has a map and online where you can keep track of your slab and grade coins. So for me do you want to grade a coin I'd go PCGS but that's just me

This is a great example of a 1938-D/D Buffalo Nickel. It is UNC and I didn't notice any bag marks, blemishes or rim dings. The lister is as if was just out of the mint. The date and images are very sharp. It will make an excellent addition to my Buffalo Nickel Collection. The price made this coin an excellent value. I am pleased.

The coin is a D/D Buffalo, but it was a less visible variety. I will be looking to upgrade with a graded coin at some point in the future.
