The 1936-D is one of the most common Buffalo nickels in all grades. In mint stae and Gem condition it is not quite as scarce as the 1936-S but it is more scarce than than the 1936, 1937, 1937-D, 1937-S, and 1938-D. Strike is usually fairly sharp. Luster is typically of the subdued frosty type.
In terms of strike and luster a truly stunning coin and among the highest of my TPG priorities. Photographic technique markedly (and needlessly) exaggerated the richness of this offering's actual toning. Now avidly following this seller.
