Great fit for my Craftsman YS4500, only had to swap the new muffler for the old muffler because of placement under the hood. Paperwork that comes with new engine tells you to use original muffler.

Very, very happy customer! Contacted Fox Lawn with my Cub Cadet model, they had me verify my exhaust configuration and told me to note that I needed the old style pipe for the exhaust. Placed my order, everything arrived in a couple of days. Swap was very easy and everything fit perfectly! Am very happy with this replacement engine. I’ve always had good luck with Briggs & Stratton motors. Certainly had no luck with that Kohler Courage motor that came with my XT1...after only a little over a year it was hammering like crazy and spewing oil when under a load...guess mowing my hill was too much for it. I have high hopes that this engine will last me for years.

Easy install using impact tool to drive mounting bolts into their unthreaded bolt holes. Engine comes in sealed factory box. Engine had been test-run at factory and had small amount of oil in crankcase which I drained. Refilling 48 oz bottle of Briggs & Stratton oil will slightly overfill - be careful. The new muffler did not fit my mower, so I removed it and replaced with muffler from previous engine - simple task, although the exhaust gasket installed at the factory tore slightly on its face, but works fine. Engine started up and runs strong - wife is happy, maybe I'll get lucky!

I'm happy with the purchase and don't have any complaints. For others looking to purchase, just be aware and read some of the reviews. it isn't 100% clear, but there are some things you will need to address. I dealt with them without issue. 1. Mounting holes are not threaded. I think it is supposed to be self threading, but I just found 4 bolts and used them instead. 2. I had to remove a screw stop to get the Choke to work. 3. The throttle cable mount took some adjustment 4. I had to remove the muffler it came with and re-use the Muffler from the riding tractor. Runs better than the original. Plenty of power.
