I bought this out of a desire to have an absolutely monstrous and unnecessary gaming machine, and I have to say, I got exactly what I wanted. Crazy configurable lights, incredible performance, vivid screen, everything on this Roswell machine was exactly what I had hoped for, AW really held nothing back (Except a certain fan table that makes overclocking a headache). Every game I've tried so far runs at max settings! I'm a bit of a benchmarking snob, and so I was initially frustrated with the temps I was getting, and the unfortunate throttling. There is plenty of end-user support, so if it's something you want to do, the ability is absolutely there!
Not sure what they call this generation, but a nice upgrade from my M18xR1. The case is bigger and more lights, With the larger case, weight seems to have dropped a tad, but with the PS still quite a haul for a laptop. Supports 3 drives AND a mSATA card. This would have been nice in the M1. The processor is fast an needed and dual 780's rock, Remember that is why I buy Alienware is for video performance, so why bother with just 1 card. Battery life is ok for what it is but do not expect long gaming time on battery. generally you will be pleased with this from previous generations price permitting...
