Own a stunning coin that is a robust addition to your coin collection. The 1813 50C Capped Bust half dollar was originally engraved incorrectly, and the '50 C.' printed on the coin is there to cover up this error. The engraver had erroneously placed the word first three letters of 'United States' in the wrong location on the coin, and raised bumps still exist on its surface as proof of the mistake. The obverse side of the half dollar depicts Lady Liberty, with long, flowing hair down to her shoulder. She is wearing a cap that's inscribed with the word 'Liberty.' Thirteen stars surround her, and the year is featured just underneath her bust.
