Macbook was purchased refurbished. Still in excellent condition, Model is i7 quad core with 8Gb ram and retina display. The display is very clear and crisp and is one of the best feature of this laptop. The processor is very fast. The storage is only 256Gb, a bit on the low side but still quite fast/responsive. Overall very nice laptop which retain high resale value.....

There are some dings here and there which of course, it's used. But the main function of the laptop, the screen, should have been elaborated on because it CLEARLY has LCD damage no matter what background, website or application I open. I'm truly really upset. Especially since this is to be used for my job and personally. Too much money was spent to have damage on the main function of a laptop.

My last Apple computer was in fact the 1984 Macintosh -- with 640 KB of ram, and two 720K floppy disks for storage. NO hard drive! I've been using Apple iPhones for several years, and decided to try a MacBook Pro to see how I liked it. The unit I bought happened to be a 2012 Retina and needed a SSD to complete it, as well as a power supply / charger. I found out that this MacBook is WAY faster than any PC I've used in the last 30+ years, and has an absolutely AWSOME display! Yes, you pay more for Apple products, but I've found that 99.99% of the time it's worth it. I'm taking this one to the Apple store for a check up / tune up to verify its condition. I expect it will come out well and last me for many more years to come. Glad to be back with an Apple computer!

Make sure you have one without issues as this is the first generation retina and just like any first generation product has issues. Check for dead pixels, no flickering during streaming. However as far as performance goes you can't beat this is the $600-700 bracket. Display is still top notch. Performance is good. Get about 45-50fps in fortnite on medium to low setting. Final Cut works smoothly. Still has all the slots a pro needs as well.

The MacBook Pro 15.4" 2012 model is a very solid laptop. As a programmer and web developer, Mac OSX is a great system to use, especially with Adobe Production and Creative suites. The 2012 model was the first year for the USB 3.0, which provides mind boggling, transfer speeds! This was the only reason I would choose a 2012 model over prior years. The second reason why I preferred the 2012 model as a used model, was the guarantee that I could purchase Apple Care. For desktops, Apple Care is not necessary, but used laptops, it is a worthy investment... :)
